After reading so many positive reviews, I decided to give Royal Halal Bites Food Truck in Charlotte a try for the first time. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the hype. I ordered the chicken over rice. The service was quick—I received my food in about 5 minutes, which was a plus. However, the food itself was very disappointing. The rice was overly wet, almost as if water had been mixed into it, making the entire dish unappetizing. The flavor was very bland, lacking the seasoning you’d expect from good halal food. On top of that, the white sauce was extremely watery, which made the dish even worse. As someone who regularly enjoys halal food and knows the flavors and quality to expect, this was far below standard and outside my comfort zone. There are many halal food trucks around the Charlotte University area, but unfortunately, this is not one I would recommend.

We ordered chicken over rice, combo over rice and Chicken Gyro. It was very delicious and good in spice levels. We really enjoyed our food. We had superb customer service experience! I can think of only one thing for improvement. Just chicken gyro was made with bread tasting like naan instead of pita bread.

Stopped by this Royal Halal bites food cart and the food was excellent. I ordered the chicken over rice and the portion size was very generous. The chicken was well seasoned, the rice was fresh, and the famous white sauce made it even better. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. Definitely a great spot for halal street food!
