Overcharged me on chicken over rice for no reason and was sneaky with reader so I couldn't see the price. Usually have no problem however I stopped going because the food would make my stomach hurt but now they did this so I had to leave a review.

Ordered the lamb on rice for 10 bucks cuz I’m broke and my credit card is maxed out this guys a king and loads up my plate enough for me to turn it into 2 meals I go and sit on the steps outside next to that expensive vegan place across the street with the beautiful open patio and listen to the live music while I ate this beautiful halal and that was a pretty good night out if you ask me So I go back there today for lunch cuz I’m still broke staying at the ymca like a gay hustler in the 80s and I got 10 bucks on me cuz I did a job for my friend hanging pictures on the wall and he actually paid me pretty good like 40 an hour cuz he’s a friend but then I had to pay the storage facility that’s keeping all my stuff so all I had left was a tenner Anyway I originally went to ihop cuz I saw an ad that said they had a lunch special with 2 eggs hash browns and bacon or sausages for 6 bucks but it ended up being from 4 years ago so I walked a few blocks down 1st ave to these guys and got the same as last time, lamb on rice for 10 bucks and it was a different guy today cuz it was lunchtime but they must be cousins or something cuz he had the same good vibes and filled the plate almost overflowing and I gave him the 10 cash feeling a bit stingy for not giving a tip cuz you know it’s New York and you know what he does he says grab yourself a drink man you want a coke Pepsi And i don’t normally drink soda on account of my health but today I did cuz you don’t turn down a free soda. Well maybe I looked a bit pathetic or hungry but man these guys are the best just if your eating right away tell them not to put the lid on cuz then half the sauce gets wasted on the lid

I tried the lamb and shrimp over rice just today and the food here was AMAZING. The meat was soo full of flavor and the sauce was very rich. The owner (Tamar) was also very kind and generous. This food truck is a must try. ❤️

I have ate at so many halal food trucks around manhattan, and this purple Tanjeen food truck on the corner of 1st Ave and 6th street is no doubt the highest quality, most top-notch truck. Taste, cost, uniqueness, quality, - on every aspect, this place is superior. A very unique aspect to this truck is the extensive options of the delicious pickled and non-pickled vegetables, which pair so well with the rice and meats. The lamb is incredibly juicy and the white and spicy (red) sauces are made daily + taste magnificent. Beyond the delicious food, the various workers do their best to offer quality service. 9 bucks for the best lamb over rice in town.

got a chicken gyro from this food truck. it was made to order and tasted fresh and hot off the grill. chicken was savory and seasoned. crisp lettuce and flavorful tomatoes. went with white sauce and hot sauce. and the pita was pretty firm yet warm and didn’t fall apart when eating it like a sandwich/wrap. service was relatively quick.
