Im going through the entire #FreeThe901 buycott list over the next month. Tonight was the Indian food truck at poplar/Perkins, Chakka aur chaat. Everything was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

I have the opportunity to visit them on their opening day. When we went there were no other people, however slowly there were some customers arrived. The service was slow. We got the food and ate in our car. 1. Dahi poori: a typical Indian chat ( tangy and flavourful street food). They put only some onions and cilantro ( and may be some chickpea). However, usually you expect some more toppings. The most important point was that the entire thing became soggy, which was unexpected. 2. Tandoori fries: crinkle cut fries with some small chicken tikka ( marinated- chargrilled chicken breasts) on top. The fries were also disappointing. The crackle cut fries were the typical frozen fries and were not fried adequate. It was not much hot and soggy. The chicken pieces were quite hard. 3. Sheekh kabab roll: A wrap with a char-grilled minced meat ( Sheekh kabab) inside. The kabab was flavourful and soft; however it was very small in size. Don’t expect this to be your dinner. I was disappointed with the paratha ( the wrap of the roll)- traditionally you wrap it with a freshly made flaky paratha, perfectly fried. They used a frozen paratha instead and that too was not fried properly. It was not served with any chutney, or anything. Overall, quite underwhelming. 4. Bun kabab: it’s more like a desi version of a hamburger. The kabab inside was soft, flavourful and nice. However, the buns were very basic- still I liked this one best amongst everything that I tried. Overall, I was disappointed with the quality and service. Everything seemed very rushed and was not executed perfectly. I usually have higher expectations from a food truck, but this one failed. Maybe it was the first day and they were still optimising. However, not quite sure if I want to go back! I would suggest the food truck owner to put more authentic Pakistani menu such as Bihari kabab, (or any kababs). Please try making the roti/ paratha from scratch. Try to sell something unique which other Indian places are not selling. This will definitely put you on the map.

This place was disappointing, if you looking for authentic desi taste, this is not the one. We ordered tandoori chicken 🍗 which was more like barbecue chicken, but less tasty. No option for vegetarian people, the one we got was customized vegetarian which was also not upto mark. I would not recommend this place. The only good thing about the restaurant is people who run it. They are generous and helpful.
