I originally had a frustrating experience with this business. The Escondido address listed is not an actual food truck location for Italian ice, but rather a spot where the trucks are parked for private events. While the owner mentioned that products may occasionally be available from the office, the listing gave the impression of a public-facing food truck with set hours, which was misleading. We drove from Oceanside expecting a reliable, Rita’s-style Italian ice stop, only to be disappointed when there was nothing available upon arrival. At the time, it felt like a wasted trip and could easily be seen as false advertising due to how the business was presented online. That said, I want to update this review to reflect how the company handled the situation after the fact. They responded promptly, took my feedback seriously, and explained the limitations they had when originally setting up their Google listing. More importantly, they took action to correct the issue so future customers won’t have the same experience. They were professional, respectful, and clearly value customer feedback. They even offered to make up for the inconvenience, which I genuinely appreciate. While the initial experience was disappointing, their response shows they are a business that listens and is willing to improve

Gelu brought their truck to our Elementary school event. It was extremely popular. Students were excited to show me what they got - apparently the gummy bears on top were a big hit! I had Salted Caramel Rootbeer with creme. Oh my!!!! My only complaint is that there was no gallon size!

Our company has ordered catering with Gelu for over a year as part of employee appreciation. Our entire office looks forward to their visits. They're quality is fantastic and they offer a large variety of flavors. Our team always appreciates their hard work and excellent service. Our Apartment complex has various food trucks every Thursday come by for tenants to enjoy. I've tried quite a few and have never once reviewed them...then came Gelu, and I've been brought back to my childhood favorite drink Orange Bang or Orange Julius. The Lemon and Orange Creamsicle were a perfect combination, that it wasn't until the owner mentioned Orange Julius where my mind exploded. I was just interested in the flavors individually, then he suggested trying them together and wow!! My wife got the Strawberry and Mango and we've both decided any chance we get we're definitely going out of our way to find this amazing Italian Ice again. I don't usually get to enjoy frozen desserts due to being lactose, so I had to take the opportunity to have some Italian Ice. You won't be disappointed!! For the price as well, this is just a no brainer, get yourself some Italin Ice from the Gelu Food Truck!!!

Gelü Italian Ice is so yummy! My family loves that there are so many flavors to choose from. Orange cream is definitely my favorite. The candy toppings are a big hit as well. Love having Gelü in San Diego.
