The tofu was really good but too mushy for my taste. Made my stomach uneasy. At first it was an 8 but as I kept eating it went to a 6. It was very busy so the wait and quality made me want to eat @ chipotle. Worth a try when the food is fresh and way before closing as they got slammed with orders and only 2 workers. Also, the lady taking orders is so so sweet. She refers to everyone as “sweetie,” and allowed us to get a free drink for our inconvenience. Such a cutie! The customer service goes a long way. Personally not worth the $16. This was the vegan bowl with tofu and no jalapeño. Has a bench, a table with 3 chairs, and 3 stools by the window.

*𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙪𝙥𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙞𝙩!* **𝘽𝙀𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙀** This restaurant is not 100% vegan/vegetarian despite the very misleading signage!! The door literally says “VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN” which leads people to believe that this restaurant doesn’t sell meat. That, unfortunately is wrong and very false advertisement. Not only does this restaurant sell all kinds of meats, but when you order they will not clarify that for you. I ordered the “carnitas tacos” unbeknownst to me that they’d actually contain pork. I’ve had this restaurant on my list of places to try for so long so I finally decide to treat myself and go after a tough day. What a disappointing experience. I will never eat here again. Before coming in, I read the reviews which all rave about their vegan/vegetarian meals and once in the store I saw the words “vegan and vegetarian” plastered everywhere so there was no reason for me to suspect that I would need to specify I don’t want to eat meat at a “vegan and vegetarian” labeled restaurant. I even took a look at the website and nothing there suggests that animals are cooked. All the owner had to do was add one last word to the signage: options. It should instead say “vegan and vegetarian options”. I’ve eaten at dozens upon dozens of vegan restaurants all over this country and even overseas and have never run into this issue before. It feels very purposeful. Like they’re following a trend and they know that if they put up those words, they’ll draw people in only to make it seem like it’s the customer’s fault when they find out animal meat is sold. Such a shame. **Edit because the owner just responded to place the blame on me when in reality their signage is confusing. Period. So predictable! As of 09/20/23 there is no disclaimer on the menu to indicate meat is sold!! Out of the 70 reviews currently posted there may be ONE review BURIED under the plant-based reviews that explicitly mentions meat. I shouldn’t have to rely on reviews to inform me about critical information regarding your business, that info should be readily available. Own your mistake, fix your errors, and stop being witty with your customers. Not a good look.

So the sign say Across the border & Vegan and Vegetarian...I am the owner and I am Vegan my self..I am not trying to deceive anyone..My menu has meat options and if you read the reviews I have reviews of people's comments on my meat burritos.. I also don't cross-contaminate with the vegan or vegetarian food..Am sorry you felt my signs are misleading and am working on it but my menu definitely lets you know we serve meat.. Their is a side for the Vegan and Vegetarian and the side for the meat... If you wasn't sure you could have asked and like I said I will due more so people like yourself don't come across this problem..Jesse Venet
This was my 1st time ordering, but it will definitely not be my last. As a vegan, it can be hard to find authentic vegan Mexican food. This place is as good as it gets. I got the taco combo plate, and as you can see from the picture, the serving size was huge! Yes, I ate all of it lol. Food was delicious and seasoned great. I really can't say enough good things about it. The team and food at Across The Border are the real deal! Huge vegan and veg menu with plenty of offerings for non vegans, too! Don't sleep on these guys, get over there and get some good food!

Decided to stop in for the first time on Valentine's day. I thought it would be quiet as a casual, local restaurant but I was wrong. Minimal seating and no bathroom (usual a deal breaker for my small bladder.) Food took a bit to cook but everyone was very nice. Vegan and vegetarian options. My burrito (which had tater tots!) and sauce were delicious. Perfect for takeout.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry if you thought we are a sit down restaurant, we are a take out restaurant but still provided sits if you wish to wait or grab the quick bit. Hopefully in the near future, we hope to open a location for a sitting. I'm glad you love the food.
